Cold Spring Tavern is a dream of a venue tucked off the 154 in the Santa Barbara Mountains that could not be more perfect of a match for the couple themselves besides of course, each other.

When I first met, well emailed with Sierra she sent me a photo of a install of pampas grass I did for Shop Dusk and an arrangement I had sent out for a delivery. Besides the nitty gritty of guest count and details like that most of the conversation was “I love this and I trust you” which is such an honor and a dream.

After meeting them in person over Cold Spring’s BBQ (if you haven’t eaten there do your self a favor) we decided on keeping with the wood tones and natural tavern vibes of the venue. We used dough bowls for the bigger arrangements of the tables and small olive wood bowls for the small palm ikebana minis.

For our floral vibe, we kept it very California cool meet roadside foraging. Lots of palms of every size, pampas grass for days, Protea pops with make it rain levels of eucalyptus. I wanted to keep the colors light with mostly blushes and creams with a hint of saturation of the combo roses and pops of chocolate cosmos. With the backdrop of that huge, beautiful macrame piece done by the Sierra’s friend it made the whole scene for ceremony and reception.

It was such a perfect day for them.
